A base that rolls into little flakes by mid-morning is frustrating, especially when you have applied each layer carefully. In warm, humid Indian weather, the answer is not automatically a new makeup product: first check whether your skincare, sunscreen and foundation are being given time to settle.
Begin with the sunscreen label
Choose a sunscreen with the protection information and usage directions you need, and follow the instructions on its packaging. Texture descriptions such as “matte” or “invisible” are subjective, so if possible, test a small amount on your own skin before relying on it for a full day. Skin can respond differently to the same formula, and a comfortable finish is personal.
Give each layer a moment
Use your usual skincare, apply sunscreen as directed and let it settle before adding makeup. Rushing straight from a rich moisturiser to sunscreen and foundation can leave several slippery layers competing with one another. If your skin feels comfortable without moisturiser that morning, keep the routine simpler rather than adding a step out of habit.
Test the full routine
Try the combination at home on a day when you have time to see how it wears, including around the nose and hairline where products can collect.
